Stan, who was born in Ahoskie North Carolina in the mid 1930's learned what hard work was at an early age. He joined the United States Army shortly after graduating from high school, served in Korea and Vietnam (2 tours) among other deployments during his years of service to his country. Retiring after 20 years from the Army, he went to work for the US Soldiers and Airmen’s Home in Washington DC. During his 26 years at the "Old Soldiers Home” he held several positions including his last as Associate Administrator of the King Health Center. Stan worked part time after his retirement for Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring, MD. Continuing his desire to be of service to his country and support all veterans Stan was a longtime member of VFW #2562 where he held many offices including Commander on several occasions.

Over the years Stan enjoyed golf and traveling with Faye. Anywhere with a beach was his favorite travel location, although his favorite times in life were the times that he spent with his family.

Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking) on Saturday April 27, 2024 from 2 to 4pm. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gary Sinise Foundation.

Stan was a member of the VFW for more than 40 years and served as Post Commander multiple times. Notes of condolence can be sent to:
