Currently, the Department will pay 50% of a Life Membership and District 2 will pay 25%.
A member should contact the Quartermaster at:
QM@VFW2562.org
and let the Quartermaster know that they want to be a Life Member.
If the member is new to Post 2562, after their application for membership has been voted on and approved, The member would reimburse the Post for 25% and then the Quartermaster will enter the new membership into the VFW.org website. That includes paying the full membership price. Then the receipt is submitted to the District and the Department for reimbursement.
If a current annual/continuous member wants to become a Life Member, they can log onto VFW.org and renew as a Life Member paying the full price. They then send the receipt by email to the Quartermaster. The Quartermaster then sends the receipt to the District Quartermaster and the Department Quartermaster for reimbursement.
Example: 45 year old wants to be a Life Member
Total Cost is $375
Department 50% is $187.50
District 2's 25% is $93.75
Member's 25% (after reimbursement) is $93.75
